Jason shares the joy of mathematical exploration and discovery through small-group workshops and one-on-one coaching.
Jason has curated a collection of rich mathematical tasks that invite creativity, curiosity, and a sense of play.
His exploratory instructional style allows every participant to feel successful, regardless of their confidence level with mathematics. At the same time, the tasks and puzzles provide opportunities for richness, depth, and discovery.
The goal is for every participant to find a place of productive struggle: that feeling of being pleasantly challenged, without becoming overwhelmed. Everyone can experience the joy of mathematical exploration and discovery!

Small Group Math Workshops

Jason facilitates short mathematics workshops for students of all ages.
Mathematics workshops focus on the joy of exploration and discovery. No specific mathematical experience is required. Participants have the opportunity to explore and gain confidence with an interesting mathematical concept. Ample time will be allowed for problem-solving, experimentation, and the discussion of different approaches and observations with a small group of fellow learners.
Workshop topics generally target middle- and high-school mathematics concepts, though sessions will be differentiated based on the students who enroll. Use the link below to contact Jason if you have particular requests or questions.

Mathematics Resources for Teachers

Jason is the author of the Arithmetiquities, a mathematical fantasy adventure in which a quirky band of heroes undertakes a quest to recover a collection of powerful mathemagical artifacts.
The twist is that this tale unfolds through a sequence of mathematical story problems! Each chapter in the story is a puzzling "problem of the week", and the 36 serialized chapters weave the story over the span an entire school year.
